Manage ConfigMgr Internet-Based Clients with CMG

Description:
CMG allows us to manage our internet facing clients. Previously we have used Internet-based client management where we had to configure secure internet-facing site systems so that internet-based clients could communicate. This was a good technology with many advantages. However, there were also some disadvantages. Now we can use CMG to manage these clients. It consists of a Microsoft Azure cloud service and a ConfigMgr site system role that communicates with that Azure service. Internet clients can then use the Azure service to communicate with ConfigMgr. This is really cool technology and gives us many advantages over traditional internet based client management. In this session we'll learn how to set up a CMG.

What you will learn:
  • Understand the typical CMG management scenarios and which features are supported
  • See how the CMG actually works to deliver these features
  • Learn about the prerequistes for configuring a CMG, including certificates and firewall ports
  • Know how to create and use the CMG to manage internet clients
